OMF Call to Prayer for Japan from 1981
1981 was the year that Luke's family moved from Sapporo to Aomori, and it was also the year that OMF's Japan Field put out a special call to prayer (shown below). The OMF Thailand Field put out a similar call to prayer that same year. Praise the Lord that, in recent years, the church in Thailand is seeing a significant increase in its rate of growth. However, over thirty years later, both Japan and Thailand continue to have the smallest number of Christians per capita of any other nation in East Asia and Japan is the only country in East Asia with a shrinking Christian population.
Now, the OMF Japan Field is once again putting out a call for special prayer for Japan and is making 2014 a focused year of prayer.
