Grace

恵真 Grace Elliot
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
the fruit of the womb a reward.
--Psalm 127:3

Emma (恵真) Grace Elliot was born on 12 July 2006 at St. Cecilia Ladies' Clinic in Aomori City, Japan. She has dual citizenship and therefore carries both a Canadian passport (like her father) and a Japanese passport (like her mother). Her Japanese name "Emma" (恵真) is a combination of the kanji character for "grace" (恵) and the kanji character for "truth" (真) and therefore conveys the meaning "grace and truth" or "true grace." In Japanese she goes by Emma, and in English she goes by her middle name Grace. We named her after the Bible verse John 1:14 because our desire is that her life will be a compelling testimony to the verity that Jesus Christ --the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world--is full of grace and truth.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory,
glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. --John 1:14
